Trip Planning

If you were traveling to the Emerald City with Dorothy and her other comrades, what would you do to make sure it was a successful trip?  What items would you bring?  How would you avoid danger?  What do you think would be the most exciting part of the journey?  What do you think would be the scariest part?  Explain your thoughts and feelings about going on such a big adventure!

Brains or Heart?

We've been reading the Wizard of Oz and know that the Scarecrow thinks brains are the most important thing.  The Tinman thinks a heart is the most important thing.  If you could only have one of those things, which one would you choose and why.  Add detail to your answer.

Weather Connection

A tornado/cylone causes Dorothy's big problem in the beginning of The Wizard of Oz.  Now that you have done some research on tornados, what suggestions do you have for Dorothy that could have helped her avoid this problem?

Also, when have you experienced bad weather?  Describe your experience and how it made you feel.  How did you stay safe in the storm?
